Patricia Wormington is a dedicated music teacher and music therapist with more than 25 years of professional practice. She consistently fosters an environment that encourages students to explore their musical abilities. Patricia regards music as a powerful medium for emotional expression, interpersonal connection, boosting cognitive function and memory, refining fine motor skills through hand-eye coordination, reducing stress and anxiety, and many other benefits.
Patricia began her career as an equity analyst in Jakarta, Indonesia, after completing training at ABN AMRO Bank in the Netherlands and London. Although she holds a degree in Accounting, her commitment to music motivated her to pursue a Master’s degree in Music Therapy in Cambridge, UK, supported by the British Chevening Award scholarship in 2000. She subsequently led the Music Therapy Department at Warwickshire County Music Service from 2003 to 2012, and taught a postgraduate music therapy program in India for one year.
Patricia moved to Cody in 2012 and founded Heartland Music Therapy Services and Alpha Bell Music Service in 2013. She has been teaching and expanding her music instruction to more than 500 students, continues to do so, and has provided music therapy services at Spirit Mountain Hospice House, Cody Regional Health’s Long Term Care Unit, Absaroka Assisted Living, the Children’s Resource Center, and Park 6 School District. Since 2015, she has also served as the Music and Choir Director at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cody. Patricia can’t wait to help you and this community experience the joy of making music.
