Early Years Music and Arts

“Immerse your child in the language of music and arts”

Early Years Music and ArtsOur early years music and art classes are play-based programs for children ages 3 to 5. We focus on sensory exploration, creative self-expression, and helping kids grow, rather than formal performance. These sessions help children develop motor skills, manage emotions, and build social confidence in a fun and supportive setting.

Let your child discover the joy of music and art making in our Early Years program. The first 30-minute lesson blends songs, movement, instrument play, and creative activities to build coordination, listening skills, and a love of music. Sessions include warm-ups, exploring beat and rhythm, trying out instruments, story-songs, and chances for creative expression. Our nurturing and playful setting supports early development without any pressure to perform. The second 30-minute lesson is all about exploring mixed media art and crafts.

Term 1 is $480 for 12 sessions ($40 per session), covering both music and arts classes. The term begins after Labor Day. Please refer to the calendar for exact dates. REGISTER HERE

Term 2 is $800 for 20 sessions ($40 per session), including both music and arts classes. The term starts after the New Year 2027. Please see the calendar for specific dates. REGISTER HERE

Drop-in fee is $45 per visit. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance.

Classes are held on Mondays from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, with a short break between sessions.

BAND & ENSEMBLES

For learners interested in making music together, ensembles are available for all ages. Guitar ensemble and Rock Jam Club are much-loved options for making music with your fellow learners at ABMS! Ensembles meet once a week. Ensembles follow a semester-based curriculum.

Enrollment in our ensembles will require a brief audition, as we expect a certain level of musicianship to play as a group. Please check in with the Office if you have questions about which ensemble is the best fit for you or for your child!

Youth Choir

Our choir seeks to enrich the lives of singers by exploring all that music has to offer. Whether diving into the fundamentals of ear training, sight-reading, and consistent practice, or learning about the power of expression through multicultural music and movement, we aim to be a source of encouragement and engagement along their artistic journey. We also feel strongly that music extends far beyond recreational entertainment; it can be a catalyst for a creative approach to all areas of life, such as formal education, well-being, and social development. By nurturing the creative spark which is inherent in each of us, we can lay a foundation for a deeply fulfilling life.

In our youth choir class, children and teens learn vocal technique, sight-reading, and how to sing together as a group. Classes are designed for different ages and experience levels, helping everyone improve their performance skills and musicality. Students get to try out many styles of music while building self-confidence, learning to work as a team, and making lasting friendships in a fun and supportive setting.
